I don't know if you guys have heard of or have been following what's happening over in Japan, but they got some 'splainin to do.
Apparently, some old homophobic guy got his hands on some yaoi and went nuts at how...well...you yaoi fans know how it is. Anyway, this guy took it to the Japanese government and demanded that a law be implemented that put stricter rules on anime and manga. Basically, anything that's violent, has mild sexual themes, anything in a school setting, or has strong language would be banned from minors.
And guess what?
Some idiot listened to him.So now, starting in July of 2011, all anime is going to be regulated through this system and any anime that meets the above criteria as being 'harmful to today's youth' and is still producing new episodes is going to be cut off.
Picture this, if you will; I'm not even a Bleach fan, but if the series isn't over by this coming July,
THEY AREN'T GOING TO BE ABLE TO FINISH. THE JAPANESE GOVERNMENT WILL MAKE THEM CANCEL THE SHOW MID-PRODUCTION.Oh, but don't worry, because none of the 18+ anime or manga will be affected.
I don't know about you people, but I for one believe that Japan's economy is going to crash and burn without anime. And another thing I don't understand: don't the Japanese make-ahem-
adult magazines available in vending machines? So showing a girl in a classroom looking bored is on it's way to becoming against the law, but it's totally fine to sell a magazine with a girl wearing no clothes in a vending machine? Or at a 7-11?
It's already messing up stuff. Go to this website, at the top of the forum,
forums.guru3d.com/showthread.p… , and they'll show you a poster for the anime convention TAF 2011, both a before the bill pic and an after the bill pic. After the bill was passed, nothing but kid shows was left.
Any show who's season is already over (ie Kuroshitsuji, Code Geass) are going to be left alone. But anything violent, in a school setting, has cursing, or is mildly sexual is going to be totally cut off.
I dare you to think of 3 good animes where the above things are not in it.
Couldn't do it?
ME NEITHER!Here's what some of the people are saying:
Tokyo is gonna burn. You never saw rage, until you see nerd rage. ****'s about to get serious.

... Isn't that like if Italy bans Italian food?
Oh, so they ban all the shonen titles for their "harmfulness", but hentai is a-ok?
Posted by Anonymous Griffin, Screwattack.com I can't wait to see their economy take a nose dive after this crap. This is the only truly healthy addiction in this world. Would they rather see us addicted to cocaine, or shooting up liquor stores?
Be happy we're addicted to a hobby we can do without killing people.
